What can we learn from Walt Disney

My family just returned from a week long vacation to Walt Disney World. It was great practice for me to choose my attitude and experience among the two hour lines for one minute rides, and capitalism (which I typically embrace) at its peak. Really, how many stuffed Mickey and Minnie animals can one own? According to my daughter, Emily, you can’t own too many.
While I tend to find "magical" experiences more likely at the lake, watching the sun create pink hues across an unencumbered shore line, and at a more relaxed pace, I chose to have fun. I think we often forget that everything in life is a choice. You can create what you want, by simply adjusting your thoughts and feelings.
So, while shelling out extraordinary amounts of money for Disney collectible trading pins, sweatshirts and post cards, I experienced some "Disney Magic," just as Walt Disney must have intended. No, it didn’t come as a result of having an exclusive breakfast at Cinderella’s Castle, or even from being chosen as part of Disney’s "Year of a Million Dreams" to be in the Animal Kingdom parade (I am not making this up.) When I chose to ignore what I didn’t like, and focused on what was really cool, I felt like the late Walt Disney was speaking to me personally:
"When you believe in your dreams, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse."
"It’s kind of fun to do the impossible."
"KEEP MOVING FORWARD."
These are just a few of the positive and really spectacular messages sprinkled throughout the park (like Tinkerbell’s fairy dust), parades, movies and rides at Disney World. I chose to embrace and highlight those for my family while slurping down a $6.99 icee and waiting for a late shuttle bus. HA!

Oh what a change in perspective can do for us!
You hit a great point here – we get to choose, each moment, on how we feel.
When we can choose to feel better, we continue to do so.
That is the secret to attracting more joy.
With gratitude….
