Simple Pleasures
Posted on 21. Dec, 2007 by Susan in Inspiration
This has been a superbly fun week. Holiday parties, the closing of school for Christmas break, and visits from dear friends. My kids are literally bouncing off the walls in anticipation for Christmas. At this exact moment, Emily (age 7) is in her pajamas dancing to the Hannah Montana’s rendition of Rockin Around the Christmas Tree. "I’m a very good dancer, " she announces. I agree. What she lacks in rhythm she makes up for with attitude. I decide this is family trait. Funny.
I am so grateful for my overflowing mail box. Relatives, friends, and clients have sent me the most heartwarming holiday cards, newsletters, family photos and gifts. I’ve taken time to read the newsletters at least twice. The pictures all portray such love and peace. Kids hugging, parents smiling, grandparents on vacation. The stories are glimpses into the lives of loved ones that live far away. I feel so privileged to know them.
Driving through my neighborhood last night, I slowly took in the light displays. WOW. How wonderful that so many people decorate their homes and yards for me, a passerby. Really. It’s generous of them. Take some time to look at the lights this season. It’s all for you!
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,
Susan
